Buba (which means Bug) has been at one shelter or another her whole life. She's been at our shelter for years but originally came from a different shelter when they closed down. Being at that age when the harsh Serbian winters will really take its toll and she may not make it we made a big push to ask for a volunteer to get her into a UK foster.
As expected after waiting so long for her forever home Buba is taking a while to settle into her foster home but is slowly coming out of her shell and learning the routine. She most enjoys being out side, takes any opportunity to get out in the fresh air. New home must have 6 ft secure fencing. Social with other dogs out on walks but is looking for a home where she is the only dog. She can live with cats.
A few word from her foster dad "Bug, as we call her, spent the whole of her life in a shelter so understandably has taken a bit of time to come round after being a bit bewildered about her new life she's She’s really turned a corner lately. She can be left alone without any issue.
I feel she would be best in a quieter household, without other dogs, she has just started to play with our other dogs but we feel she would enjoy the quietness of living as an only dog. She does take any opportunity in getting out into the garden, has jumped out of our open window before now, new home must be mindful of this and keep all windows, including the little windows at the top.
Despite her age she is a healthy little girl with no health problems, she loves her walks and having a good sniff around. Walks well on the lead too.
I’m just starting to introduce traffic and different stuff to her walks instead of empty countryside which she is slowly coming round too.
She would make a great little companion for someone who would be willing to spend the time just letting her be and come round in her own time. Once she knows you she’s lovely. Can be shy with new people but we’ve found she will just take herself off to her safe place (crate) and come out when she’s good and ready".
